I Taste the Future

Jimmie Durham

Jimmie Durham (born in 1940 in USA; lives and works in Berlin, Germany) studied at L’Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Geneva, where he focused primarily on performance and sculpture. Durham is a sculptor, essayist and poet whose work has been presented in numerous international exhibitions. The relationship between history and environment, architecture and monumentality, and a critical attitude toward political structures of power and narratives of national identity are often central to his artistic and literary work.
