Laida Lertxundi

Laida Lertxundi (1981, Spain) makes films with amateur actors, landscapes and sounds. She has an upcoming solo show at Marta Cervera Contemporary, Madrid (2013) 2012 Whitney Biennial (New York, USA), MoMA (New York, USA), LACMA (Los Angeles, USA) and the Viennale (Vienna, Austria), ‘Views from the Avant-Garde’ at the New York Film Festival (USA) and the Rotterdam International Film Festival (Netherlands). She received the Tom Berman Award for Most Promising Filmmaker at the 48th Ann Arbor Film Festival and was nominated one of the ‘25 Filmmakers for the 21st Century’ in Film Comment’s Avant-Garde Poll. She works as a film and video curator in the USA and Spain and teaches film at the University of California (San Diego, USA).
