Lisa Tan

Lisa Tan (1973, USA) lives and works in Stockholm, Sweden. Her art and thought process are always connected to trying to gauge shifting levels of intimacy and distance. Her recent video works consider the affective qualities of natural phenomena amidst The mundane, and sbtly incorporate literary figures, whose respektive enigmatic presence gives way to discussions on creative labour and ways of being. Recent solo exhibitions include ‘Sunsets’, Galerie Vidal Cuglietta (Brussels, Belgium, 2012), ‘Two Birds, Eighty Mountains and a Portrait of the Artist’, Arthouse at the Jones Center (Austin, USA, 2011) and ‘Language Barrier’, Centro Cultural Montehermoso (Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain, 2009).
