Olivier Zabat
Olivier Zabat (1965, France) lives and works in Paris, France. Zabat is an Experimental documentary filmmaker and an artist, presenting stories from the margins of social spaces. Since 2011 Zabat has turned to entertainment and populär show formats, in order to explore their relationships with cinema history and the present evolution of moving images. Zabat’s works have been screened on television, in movie theatres, contemporary art galleries and major international documentary film festivals. Selected exhibitions and screenings include the Venice International Film Festival (Italy), ‘Day For Night’, CUNY (New York, USA), Manifesta 5 (San Sebastian, Spain, 2004), ‘Mémoires’, Galerie Nationale du Jeu de Paume (Paris, France), Festival International du Documentaire de Marseille (France), International Film Festival Rotterdam (Netherlands), ‘Traversées’, Musée d’Art Moderne de la ville de Paris (France). Rabat has been a lecturer at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Lyon since 2006.
