Silje Figenschou Thoresen (born in 1978 in Kirkenes, Norway; lives and works in Kirkenes, Norway) studied furniture and spatial design at the Art Academy of Bergen and at Konstfack in Stockholm. Informed by her Sámi background, Thoresen’s work is based in the culture’s non-hierarchical attitude and pragmatic approach to material and design.
