Simryn Gill (born 1959) works with photography and installations. She is keenly aware of the special characteristics of the times in which we live but does not address problems directly. Instead she relies on a poetic approach, discovering beauty in abandoned and neglected objects and situations. She shows how the passage of time changes things and environments and how we ignore the natural world with its resources and neglect our knowledge of it.
Simryn Gill lives and works in Sydney and Malaysia.
