Something in the Way

Steven Claydon

The almost alchemic method of Steven Claydon (1969, UK), where the material process, history and cultural significance are at the centre, is expressed through sculptures, paintings, collages and videos. His works reside restlessly in the splits between the written word, manufactured material and the changing cultural horizon of the times. Consisting of both found and processed material, the works forms unholy assemblages where Snoopy and Mussolini might have to share the same dubious pedestal. For LIAF Claydon will make an installation in an abandoned flower shop in the centre of Kabelvåg.
