Anne Katrine Dolven (born 1953) has made several video/film works in recent years based on the landscape, light and people of the Lofoten islands. Her works always have a painterly quality reminiscent of her paintings. The narrative ele- ment is minimized in her work, which conveys emotive landscapes, scenes that often have an odd element with a mesmerising, silent presence capable of changing our gaze into a contemplative process.
